Diet Versus Lifestyle Change

We have this habit of applying temporary fixes on our health. For example, the infamous 'New Year's Resolution' of losing weight. It is a guarantee the gyms across America and beyond are packed in January. We start seeing the decline in attendance starting around the last week in January. By March...Well, you know. The term Diet is temporary. However, Lifestyle Change is long term and more permanent. When you decide to change your Lifestyle, you are eliminating the foods and habits that caused the negative outcome on your health and well being. You are adapting to a specific routine and making it a part of your regular everyday living. Like breathing.

The hardest part of a Lifestyle Change is actually initiating it. One way to have a successful start, is to create a a menu and a schedule. Focus on the routine and not the outcome. When we focus more on the outcome, we disappoint ourselves because we want see results right away. I was so focused on improving my A1C NUMBers. I had not noticed how much weight I had lost.
